Zoë Royer is a writer and activist based in Denver, Colorado. Following a family tragedy during her teenage years, Zoë and her sister were left parentless and without a home. Despite her obstacles, she was one of Hide in Plain Sight’s first scholarship recipients.
Rising to the occasion, she graduated from Metropolitan State University with high honors in 2019. HIPS also helped her complete a research project at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
Zoë believes in fighting for a better and more equitable world through building relationships with her community. She is passionate about social change and hopes to inspire through telling her story and empowering others. As a dedicated leader, Zoë has supported suicide prevention projects, at-risk youth mental health initiatives, and women’s non-profits throughout the state of Colorado.
Zoë has been the president of several student organizations, as a social justice honor society. Zoë is looking forward to attending a PhD program and continuing to raise awareness about student homelessness.
