From the Executive Director: Leah Goss
I am preparing our annual report to the State of Colorado for our COSI grant and am reaching out to our Hide In Plain Sight Scholars to see how they are doing in their studies. Frankly, I’m amazed at what I am learning!
Consider Jami, a neuroscience major with a 4.0 GPA, working 40 hours a week as an intern, taking six credits this summer, and volunteering in local community programs. Or how about Abin, whose dream is to become a nurse with a 3.2 GPA, who expects to graduate in December and is an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success?!
And finally, how about Ashley, who just graduated with a 2-year biology degree and a GPA of 3.66?! She was highly engaged on her campus, participating in multiple opportunities for personal, professional and academic growth. She also volunteered in the emergency department of a local hospital, at the Western Stock Show, school fairs, and was a member of student government and Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for community college students.
All I can say is, “Wow, what a fabulous investment Hide In Plain Sight is making in the future of our community!” We should all be proud of these outstanding young people!
